Batam Authority is the forerunner of Batam Enterprises Agency (BP Batam). In PP 46 mentioned that Batam Island Industrial Development Authority changed to Batam Island Enterprises Agency with its existence for 70 years since PP 46 was signed. This provides legal certainty to both local and foreign investors during that time to invest in Batam. BP Batam has a clear vision and mission to develop Batam in the future. Currently BP Batam gained authority from the central government in particular that is the authority of the Department of Trade to issue traffic permits in and out of goods. Such licenses include Plastic IP and Plastic Scrap Licenses, IT-PT Permits, Licensing IT Discs, Licensing of Agricultural Equipment IT, Licensing of Licensing Permit, Photocopying Machines and Color Printers, Licensing of Non-New Capital Goods, Licensing Licenses, Special Ports, Licensing Ship Release.
